Textured wall art from YS-Art: hand-painted acrylic paintings with real relief – created with a palette knife, texture paste, gold leaf and 3D elements. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind original, painted in our studio in Germany. Texture like this only exists in hand-painted art; it cannot be printed.
What is a textured painting?
In a textured painting the paint is applied in layers and ridges instead of flat. The surface becomes three-dimensional, catches the light and casts small shadows – so the painting looks slightly different in the morning, at midday and in the evening.
Palette knife, texture paste and 3D relief
- Palette knife technique – the paint is applied with a knife instead of a brush, creating sharp edges and expressive layers.
- Texture paste – for deeper relief and a surface you can see and feel.
- Gold leaf and metallic accents – applied by hand, they shimmer as the light changes.
- 3D relief – sculptural pieces where forms stand out from the surface and cast their own shadows.
Textured abstract art for living rooms and offices
Neutral textured paintings in beige, grey and gold bring depth to living rooms and bedrooms without overwhelming them; bolder pieces become a statement in offices, practices and receptions. Many are available framed in gold, black, grey or natural wood.
Every textured painting is one of a kind
Because each surface is built up by hand, no two paintings are identical – the texture, layers and play of light are unique to your piece.
Frequently asked questions
How is textured wall art different from a canvas print?
The paint is applied as relief, so the surface is three-dimensional. A canvas print is completely flat.
Are the paintings hand-painted?
Yes. Every piece is painted by hand with acrylics in our studio in Germany. Texture cannot be printed.
What is palette knife painting?
A technique in which the paint is applied with a palette knife rather than a brush. It creates sharp edges, ridges and layers.
What is 3D wall art?
Pieces with deep relief, where forms stand out from the surface and cast their own shadows. They are also made entirely by hand.
How do I clean a textured painting?
Use a soft, dry brush or a feather duster. Please do not use damp cloths or cleaning products.
Can I see how it will look on my wall?
Yes. Send us a photo of your wall and we will create a free visualisation, usually within 2 hours.
Can I order a different size or colour?
Many motifs can be painted to order in other sizes and colours – just get in touch.
