"Shining in the Clouds" takes its name from a feeling of light breaking through — warm gold forms emerging from a soft, diffuse background of beige and grey. The surface is built entirely by hand, layer by layer, using water-based acrylic and structured relief technique. Each petal-like form catches light differently depending on the angle, making the painting respond to the conditions of the room.
